Beyond This Horizon by Robert A. Heinlein (author of Rocket Ship Galileo, Have Space Suit Will Travel, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, The Puppet Masters, etc.) Heinlein's second novel. Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Fantasy Press 1948. $3.00 cover price, dust jacket art by A.J. Donnell, and four interior illustrations by Robert Breck. Light red boards with gold-color lettering. 242 pages. Fine- in Near Fine-/Very Good++ Dust Jacket. A very nice presentable and smart copy with only a couple of shortcomings to the dust jacket. The book itself is very clean, pages bright, corners straight, tiniest hint of dustiness to the lower corner of the front board, else just about fine. Dust Jacket is quite bright and clean on the front, main shortcomings some fraying to top and bottom of the spine, and typical soiling to the back, and some fading to the red lettering on the spine. Some places strengthened with archival adhesive to the back of the dust jacket. NOTE: Book collectors should be awar ... Read more

First edition and first printing trade copy by one of the most important writers of the Beat Generation! NOT ex-lib and NOT bc. Big Sur by Jack Kerouac (author of "On the Road", "Desolation Angels", etc) Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Farrar Straus and Cudahy 1962 $4.50 cover price intact. States "First Printing" on the copyright page. Fine- in Near Fine+ Dust Jacket. A superb copy! The book itself is near flawless, very clean boards, straight corners, very bright and clean pages, just a tiny hint of shelf-wear to the bottom of the rear corner. The dust jacket is also very clean and bright with no major tears, but has the following shortcomings: very slight nicking to the top and bottom of the spine and some discoloration to the bottom edge of the rear, tiny hint of toning to the spine, and a couple of small spots here and there. Else, a very clean and presentable copy. Most sellers are asking $1000+ for perfect copies. This one is near-perfect! (Most copies were either read-to-death because of Ker ... Read more

The Black Stallion's Sulky Colt (10th Black Stallion book) by Walter Farley Illustrated by Harold Eldridge Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Random House 1954. States "First Printing" on the copyright page. Fine- in Near Fine price-clipped Dust Jacket. A really nice copy, the book itself is quite nice, only some tenderness to the lower corners and some discoloration to the free endpapers (common), in a mostly bright dust jacket without any tears, just some discoloration on the back which can't be seen in the front, and some darkening and slight hint of blue on the back of the dust jacket. Still quite nice and presentable. NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers. ALSO: The picture is of the actual item for sale. (The picture is NOT a stock photo.)

The Blood of Roses

Tanith Lee

  • Edition: First Edition
  • Book condition: Fine-/Near Fine+
  • Quantity available: 1
The Blood of Roses by Tanith Lee Hardcover First Edition - First Printing London: Legend UK, 1990. (never released in the US) Signed and dated by the late Tanith Lee. Cover illustration by Jeff Willis. Fine- in Fine Dust Jacket. A beautiful copy. The boards are clean, corners, straight, binding solid. The lettering on the spine is bright and clean (the scan doesn't do it justice.) The main shortcoming is some superficial soiling and a superficial damp stain to the bottom edge of the text block, not affecting the inner pages at all. For some reason, copies seem to be prone to soiling on the text block edge, a notorious problem for this edition. Tanith Lee (1947-2015) may be the most underrated modern fantasy writer of the 20th and early 21st century. Her prose style reads like poetry and her themes were often mythological usually medieval in inspiration. Sadly Tanith Lee left us in 2015. Many of her early books had small print-runs, but quite a few have remained in print. Her first book was the Dragon Hoard a ... Read more
