[1940 BLITZKRIEG ARTILLERY PLAN Weidinger in German typed manuscript 8 pp original] "Gedanken über Feuerleitung stärkerer Artillerie" ["Thoughts on stronger artillery fire control line"] by the WWII German officer Colonel Wilhelm Weidinger (see Notes). The date "Februar 1940" is written in pencil at the upper right-hand corner of the first page indicating the essay was written about three months before the Nazi Blitzkrieg beginning in May 1940. On page 3, Weidinger writes, "[I]t is safe to assume that the struggle in the West [blitzkrieg invasion of Belgium, etc., opening in May 1940] will not take place as it did in Poland [invasion, September 1939]".
