Lovely cover to this one, featuring a reference to the Ghanaian bus art witnessed by the book's unnamed narrator as he wearily walks home: a brief moment of transcendence after a night spent helping his friend escape the aftermath of a military coup. Painted on the back of a passing bus, alongside the book's title phrase, is 'a single flower, solitary, unexplainable, and very beautiful.' Bannon, who wrote the Beebo Brinker Chronicles as a closeted housewife beginning in the late 1950s, called the characters in these books her 'fantasy friends'. This is the final book in the series, although chronologically it's a prequel, and it follows pizza deliverer and iconic butch lesbian Beebo, fresh off the farm, as she navigates Greenwich Village and tags along with a larger-than-life movie star to California. This edition's cover design and author photo are by Cunt Coloring Book creator Tee A. Corinne. 208 pp.

This classic of conspiracy lit has wielded its outsize influence in part due to its esoterically packed cover art by Joanna Heikens: the fourth horseman conquers death, transcends the material sphere which houses the book's fantastic hand-lettered title, and heads straight for the sun.
