Description:
New York: Random House, 1957. First Edition, First Printing. First Printing of both the book and dust jacket. First Printing of the book: copyrighted 1957, matte finish (not laminated), single signature (page gathering). In the rare first printing dust jacket: with the price "200/200" on the front flap, and with no mention of the "Beginner Books" series on the rear panel. Albeit being the rare First Printing, this copy is only in fair to good condition, and is consistent with that book grade. There is substantial generalized usage wear. Book is complete, just suffering from generalized wear. No previous signs of ownership, aside from the small bookseller bookplate of The Little Acorn Books and Gifts. Hinges are attached, rear hinge starting, internal paper with some separation, hinges very shaken. External rubs and abrasion. The dust jacket is severely creased and abraded, with a 5 inch closed tear. The dust jacket is laminated (unlike the book) so is fairly durable despite… Read More

New York: The Grolier Society, 1921. Bound in full limp leather bindings. Gilded spines and covers. All edges cased in gilding. Printed on thick paper. Columned text. Decorative border surrounding the text on each page. Heavily illustrated throughout. Volume one indicates on the gilded binding page that this set was has been printed and bound especially for... In good condition only, and consistent with that book grade, with a lot of shelf wear, please understand the wear before purchasing. Although these are full leather bindings, these are only limp leather bindings and so do not stand on their own very well, and need to be propped up, but these still display beautifully, and are an impressive collection.
