The author, brother of W. B. Yeats, was an artist / illustrator who created the first cartoon strip version of Sherlock Holmes in 1894. At the centre of this novel are two Irish tramps, very reminiscent of Becket's tramps in 'Waiting for Godot'. Yeats has not yet achieved the critical regard he deserves.
