La Belle Jardiniere was a chain of shops specializing in high-end sportswear for men, women, and children. The plates, appropriately enough, depict elegantly decked out people engaging in activities relevant to the month in question: Boutet de Monvel (January) depicts five impeccably-dressed children singing in the new year; Caran d'Ache (October) shows us a hunting scene; etc. 4to. 12 leaves, printed rectos only, tied together with two fine silk strings.
