Adam Piliński (1810-1887) was Polish engraver who in 1832 moved to Paris and was famous for his techniques of reproduction of illuminated manuscripts and early printed books. The Hague: Pieter Husson, 1705 Engraving 50 x 58 cm, old color. Beautiful and uncommon map of Spain and Portugal published by Duch cartographer and bookseller Pieter Husson (1678-1733) to illustrate a theater of the War of the Spanish Succession. From Husson' "Variae Tabulae Geographicae", The Hague, ca. 1710 which included mostly maps by Amsterdam cartographers but also few Husson's maps.

Paris: Chez Jean Md d'Estampes, 1812 Engraving 59 x 90 cm, old color. A curiosity. The first state of this map was published in 1674 by Hubert Jaillot under the title "La Russie Blanche ou Moscovie Divisee Suivant l'Estendue Des Royaumes Duches". It was included in many atlases published Jaillot and his successors untill about 1720 when it became obviously obsolete. However around 1812 it was reissued probably to illustrate French-Russian war.
