The Calling

Wolfe, Inger Ash

McClelland and Stewart, 2008. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First Canadian (and true first - preceding both the UK and US editions). A 'first' novel from this author - really a pseudonym of a "well-known North American writer." Speculation abounds, but everyone seems to agree on one thing: this is a fantastic crime novel. All of our first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Dustwrappers are protected with clear archival wraps and we pack each book like it's a Tiffany egg.

  • Edition: Not clear
  • Book condition: Good
  • Quantity available: 1
London: Nicholson & Watson, 1949. Not clear. Hardcover. Good/No dustwrapper. States: "First published in 1949 by Nicholson & Watson Ltd" on the copyright page, but Hubin gives the original publication date as 1940. Orange cloth boards with silver titles and black background stamped on spine. This copy is ex-library and shows remnants of glued flaps, erasures and evidence of pasted items removed. The text is a little foxed but complete and fairly clean. I have no clue as to whether this is a first edition with a printing error or a reprint that is oddly labeled. Author's 5th Sergeant Beef mystery is scarce from Nicholson. All of our first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Dustwrappers are protected with clear archival wraps and we pack each book like it's a Tiffany egg.
