Columbia: [South Carolina College?], 1860. Broadside. Fair condition. 7 3/4" x 9 1/2". Fair condition. Trimmed with loss to the edges and likely removed from a scrapbook with glue residue on the back. The two poems are pro-states rights and foreshadow South Carolina's secession from the Union later in the year. A manuscript not indicates A.B. Longstreet lawyer, minister, a staunch supporter of slavery, and friend of Calhoun gave the prayer. Alexander Haskell was one of the speakers and went on to be a Confederate General and Rivers was a professor of Greek Literature at the college. Unrecorded.

Boston: Printed by[S. Kneeland and T. Green, for Thomas Prince, junr.], 1743. Removed. Pages [249]- 256 pp. Foxed and soiled. A single issue of this important and early American periodical. This issue has an account on revivals in Wrentham, Massachusetts and in New Jersey.

New York: Harper & Brothers, 1844. 31 pp. This copy has been removed and lacking wraps with foxing throughout. This is a hastily printed edition of this famous work. A more elaborate production was produced in Philadelphia, in the 1844 but some argue this cheaply printed edition was the first.

Beautifully decorated and illustrated hardcover collection of poetry including "O, Why Should The Spirit Of Mortal Be Proud?," "The Village Blacksmith," and more. There are some markings to the cover, slight wear around the edges, and some small water spots on the cover.

Very interesting artwork from Boris Artzybasheff. General wear to the entirety of dust jacket. The back upper right corner has a sizeable tear that affects part of the spine. Some rubbing to the spine. The back inside flap of the jacket has a small tear at the top and the bottom inside corner has been bent. Tanning to the jacket most prevalent around the edges and spine.

1864. Civil War Dairy of Allen David Frankenberry (1841-1909) from March 7 to September 8, 1864 covering much of the time he was in the Signal Corps in Georgia. There is war content, accounts of foraging, cooking, and camp life. Well written with very good detail. The diary ends about a month before the battle of Allatoona where Frankenberry may have sent one of the famous signals to hold the fort. "Frankenberry, while attending college at Waynesburg, Greene county, enlisted on August 20th, 1863, in Company K, Fifteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry, better known as the Anderson Cavalry, serving with this command as Orderly at Headquarters of the Department of the Cumberland in the field until January 14th, 1864, when he was transferred to the signal corps, U.S.A., where he remained until discharged from the army, June 20th, 1865." (find a Grave).

[Huntsville, Alabama?], 1864. 9" x 14.5". A Fortunate survival, of a apparently unrecorded broadside presumably printed in Union occupied northern Alabama by a soldier from Indiana servicing in Grants army. No copies found. Edge wear, folds and soiling. Includes a lengthy description by Robert Rubin.

Williamsport, Pa: Grit Steam Ptg. House, 1888. Front wrap tattered and rear wrap lacking Mr & Mrs Colby were murdered by the Johnson bothers in Cherry Run Pennsylvania 64 pp pp.

New York: Boni and Liveright, 1922. Carra edition. 21 volumes. Signed numbered edition 108. Good condition with soiled and stained spines. The top of the half title of volume 1 is lightly stained.

London: Ellis and Scrutton, 1886. 528, 521 pp. End papers foxed and embossed blue cloth bindings show some wear and dents.

A remarkable assembled collection of the Boston Almanac from the second year of publication in 1837 through 1863 complete. Various publishers. The first 8 issues were published by S.N. Dickinson, and these are particularly good with several trade cards for the publisher glued on the inside covers. Overall, the volumes are in very good condition with light wear to the bindings and the maps in the 1844 and 1845 issues are lacking the maps.

This collection includes 11 monthly brochures with lists of activities and updates of the group's activities. There are also 2 brochures for Merriland Camp in Wells Maine where member girls could spend the Summer near the Ocean in two old farmhouses. Finally, there is a racist broadside for minstrel show and one of the monthly bulletins advertises the show on the cover.

1970. William Hood (1920-2013) was born and raised in Maine and joined the OSS in World War II. He served as a member of the CIA in Europe for 30 years, retired, and wrote spy novels. These photos show protests against the Vietnam war and pro-war protestors. The photographs are in excellent condition, with some attached back-to-back. Hood gave this collection to Bevin O'Brien before his death. O'Brien is the daughter of founding ABAA member Francis O'Brien. 7 1/2" x 9 3/4

4 volumes bound uniformly in leather. Some foxing especially on the first few pages of each volume. This includes an essay on the life of Lamb by Thomas Purnell. Lamb (1775-1834) was an author, poet and much-loved British writer.

Good with wear to the binding and the interior has toning and minor stains Beam was a leading member of the Eclectic medicine tradition which grew out of the earlier Thompsonian medical tradition Beam was instrumental in fighting an 1889 Pennsylvania bill that would have made the practice eclectic medicine difficult in the state Sadly, Beam died later that year in the Johnstown flood 33 pp pp.

Cambridge: The M.I.T. Press, 1965. 245 pp. In very good condition with a clipped and lightly soiled jacket.
