Sebizius, Melchior: De notis Virginitatis.Engraved extra title-page, 3 folding engraved plates and 2 folding tables, as called for. 12mo (5 x 3 inches), 338-pages. Old calf. Binding broken & chipped, damp mark to title, inner joints split, else internally good.Although this curious collection of treatises, chiefly on gynaecology and obstetrics, went through several editions, it is not often found. Some editions were confiscated because of the frank discussion of virginity and its method of loss.

Londres: 1775. The second work 1776. 4 volumes 8vo ( 8 x 5 1/4 inches). L'Homme pages xvi:495 & 615; L'Esprit pages: viii:634 & 226:civ:106-201 with an engraved portrait of the author. Contemporary full tan calf, wide decorative gilt border to sides, all edges gilt. The bindings very rubbed and dry, all backstrips defective, corners rubbed through. An ideal cadidate for rebinding as internally very good and bound with the half titles; priced to allow for such.

Association Generale des Jockeys de Galop en France, 1946. Numerous plates, some coloured, illustratiions and coloured advertisements. 4to (12 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches), 216-pages, original wrappers protected by removable cellophane; very good.

Sylve-Ducis: Stephanum du Mont, Illustris Scholae Typograph, 1668. 12mo (5 1/4 x 3 inches), 128-pages. Full dark blue morocco, elaborate gilt borders to sides enclosing decorative gilt frame, spine gilt extra with burgundy lettering piece, all edges gilt and gauffered. Some rubbing to joints, spine a little dulled; overall a very pretty binding in very good condition.

The Book Club, London, 1957. 8vo, original cloth in dust jacket. The jacket with loss at base of backstrip and with internal sellotape repairs. A couple of tiny marks on backstrip else the binding very good. Tanning to margins of first 140-pages.

Title vignettes, 9 plates (of which 8 coloured) and two folding maps (of which 1 coloured). 8vo (7 3/4 x 54 3/4 inches), pages: xvi:374 & vii:384, contemporary full calf, spines gilt with double lettering pieces, gilt crest to upper boards & Harrow prize label on front pastedown of vol.1; bindings very rubbed and scuffed, upper joints cracked, lettering pieces chipped. Endpapers foxed, some foxing to frontispieces but largely noticeable to the reverse, some light age toning to the margins, a few creases to the maps where incorrectly folded but no tears; overall internally good.

Contemporary half calf over marbled boards with lettering piece. Binding rubbed, splits to outer upper joint, upper inner hinge cracked. Plates very foxed, page 591/92 detached and chipped and browned on margins. Inscriptions on front fly. Bound without the half-title.
