Wonderful period D/W illustration by Dudley Tennant. The Author is better known as John Creasey.

London, 1963. First Edition. A letter dated November, 1963 on PGWs Remsenburg, New York letterhead. The letter is addressed to George (surname un-known but clearly a friend from the past) and signed Plum. The letter has a single fold and has circa 205 words in very nice condition. How very nice to hear from you after all these years. Ethel and I have often talked about you...glad to hear that Vere is going strong. The bulk of the letter tells of the Wodehouses move from Park Avenue to Rem senburg and of the quiet life that they live there. Then Dont you feel sad about Hunstanton? Too bad its gone the way of most country house. We hear about Alec Henry quite a lot, but I imagine he is about the only surviving member of the old crowd. He ends by sending a cheque for £25 reasons unknown. A nice item

The letter is addressed to George (surname un-known but clearly a friend from the past) and signed Plum. It is absolutely impossible to send a cable from this remote spot ...Give the Council my very best...I wish I could be at the cocktail party. Congratulations on becoming a Chevalier. My great news is that they are putting me in Madame Tussauds.

Formerly the property of Leila Berg, the British childrens author who wrote the "Nippers" series in the 1960s as a realistic and gritty alternative to Enid Blyton. She was a close friend of J L Carr who has written a 9-line inscription inside this book of extracts from Leilas "Nippers" series. Inscribed copies of this book are very uncommon.
