Newspaper, 4to (14-3/4 inches tall), pp. 1-6, (lacking 7-23) 19-24 illustrated with ads, comics, drawings and photos which include the liberating British Army marching through the streets. Front page with caption title "Mother Denmark Sweeps Out". Paper with some toning, creases, a few tiny punctures and short closed tears, images still bright and colorful. Published shortly after V-E Day (Victory in Europe Day), this newspaper proves the Danes wasted no time in clearing out the unwanted "Nazi animals" so clearly depicted here with a Danish beauty (Mother Denmark) happily working her broom. In the background is a map of Denmark showing the date "5' MAJ" representing the day of Denmark's liberation from Nazi occupation by the British Army - a holiday still celebrated today as "Befrielsen" (The Liberation). A remarkable survivor considering the postwar shortages that followed.

Blue paper over boards with quarter cloth spine, Greenland's coat of arms and the Danish crown stamped in gilt onto upper board, 4to (12-3/4 inches tall), pp. [1]-63, [64 - index], illustrated with B&W photo reproductions throughout, text in both Danish and English, original wraps bound in. Volume with light wear and some fading to extremities, a black felt pen mark at top of front pastedown, some minor crinkling to eps, text is fine and unmarked. DJ is complete, but well worn with a large closed tear across the front panel, rubbing, creases and small chips. Published to commemorate the 1952 Danish Royal visit to Greenland with the King having navigated and arrived in his own "kayak" - the yacht 'Dannebrog'.

Spine present but held on by clear tape, top half of ffep torn along gutter, occasional light soil not affecting illustrations, corners worn, boards with faint creases, a few pages starting to loosen at spine. Overall, a complete copy in about good condition. The only copy currently available in the trade, with just two copies in WorldCat, both held in institutions.

Image with a water stain fully across the bottom edge, top and side edges with green border trimmed off, a few tape ghosts near edges with an abrasion at top left corner and verso browned from a previous mounting. An uncommon size of a popular and much reprinted 1950 painting by Andrew Lewis, who also painted the Quints engaging in other activities throughout their early lives.
