Daniel Shed, born in England around 1620, emigrated to Massachusetts by 1643. This volume traces his descendants over ten generations. Alternate spellings: SHEDD, SCHEDDE. He settled first in Cambridge, Massachusetts, then removed, in or before 1639, to Hartford, Connecticut. At the age of sixty-five, in 1659, he moved again, to Hadley, Massachusetts, together with his daughter, Ruth, and his sons, Daniel, Isaac, and Jacob. His older children, four sons and two daughters, stayed in Hartford and Farmington.
