Nine.According to the Zinn Education Project: “In March 22, 1969, nine protesters [eight of the nine were Roman Catholic priests, nuns, and seminarians] smashed glass, hurled files out a fourth floor window, and poured blood on files and furniture at the Dow Chemical offices in Washington, D.C. In a prepared statement, the nine noted that Dow seeks “profit in the production of napalm, defoliants and nerve gas.” They acted because of Dow’s “refusal to accept responsibility for programmed destruction of human life.” On May 7, 1970, the nine were sentenced to terms ranging from three months to six years in jail. Seven of the nine appealed and won a reversal of their convictions at the U.S. Court of Appeals in June 1972.

A significant literary association between two Pulitzer Prize winners (Snodgrass won in 1960 for his first book, Heart’s Needle).

Sex-positive sex education pamphlet by Levine, an advocate for marriage counseling and birth control who later became director of the Margaret Sanger Research Bureau. With descriptions of sexual organs, sexual intercourse, and sexual conduct—sections on The Hymen, The Sex Act Proper, and After Play. This text was later reprinted by Planned Parenthood. No copies in commerce and only 3 copies of the 1930s edition in OCLC (Harvard, Emory, UC Davis).

Menville (1935-   ) is a respected author and science fiction editor who has published fourteen books. Menville was the Editor of Forgotten Fantasy magazine during its short run (1970-1971), and later he penned an episode entitled “The World Ship” for the animated science-fiction series Space Sentinels (1977). He went on to publish A Historical and Critical Survey of the Science Fiction Film (1975), Futurevisions: The New Golden Age of the Science Fiction Film (1985, with R. Reginald and Mary Burgess), and The Work of Ross Rocklynne: An Annotated Bibliography & Guide (1989). With his frequent collaborator R.
