First Edition; presumed first print (or possible second printing); probable second issue with the thinner, coated stock, miscut pages, and the last page advertising The Shoulder of Shasta. The two (or multiple) printings were bound and stamped identically, and there are several issues of both. The earliest (as determined by those copies inscribed by the author on, or near publication day) have no publisher's advertisements at all. Copies advertising Dracula are obviously later, although perhaps not by very long. 1899 previous owner's inscription "W.F W Domell June 1899".
