Description:
New York: Horodner Romley Gallery, 1992. First printing. (8) pp., 2.75 x 9 inches, stapled into printed card covers. Project #1, designed by Susan Bowman. Reprinted from Real Life magazine. Light edgewear and creases to cover around the staples; still very good, and internally fine. Declassified is an art-historical essay on the notion of a “declassification” of artists after post-modernism: “Whereas the modernist and Postmodernist artist has been more or less confined to the use of a style or trademark as a marketing device, it would now appear possible that the artist could become an agent of declassification.” A scarce publication by prolific artist, author, and curator Morgan; OCLC locates two copies, one in the United States (at MoMA).

Description:
Schw├Ąbisch-Hall, Germany: Anne B├╝ssow, 2020. Original work. (55) pp., 12.75 x 16.5 inches. Unpublished poems from the Robert Lax Archives at St. Bonaventure University, chosen, hand-lettered, and illustrated with original ink drawings by the artist. Unique copy, hand-bound by Roger Green and housed in a card slipcase; for ease of reading, all of the hand-lettered texts are also presented on printed sheets tucked into a pocket inside the back cover of the book. New. Over the past decade, Anne B├╝ssow has issued a series of limited-edition books that print unpublished Robert Lax texts, which she has selected from the material in the Lax archives and illustrated with woodcuts and lithographs. For this one-of-a-kind book of drawings, she chose nine poems in the form of (or suggesting) dialogues between two voices. The ink drawings range from simple still lifes to thickly layered compositions using words of the texts, and combinations of the two; the hand-lettering itself also varies greatly in… Read more

Description:
New York: Harper & Row, 1972. First printing. 335 pp., 6 x 8.5 inches. Cloth in printed dust-jacket. Edited by James R. McGraw. Boards faded at edges, and a moderate lean to the spine, otherwise very good, in a very good age-toned dust-jacket. ┬ôThe noted political analyst and commentator (and sometimes candidate) Dick Gregory offers here an antidote for Presidential puff biographies, campaign rhetoric, party platforms, and convenion-itis with a candid handbook for the wary voter . . . The book includes useful tools for the scholar and voter, such as Dick Gregory┬ĺs Do-It-Yourself Acceptance Speech, A Literacy Test for Candidates, and a Gregorian Poll (to be mailed to public opinion pollsters). Conscientious students will find probing homework assignments at the end of each lesson, as, for example: ┬ĹIn an essay of five words or less, state clearly the difference between the Democratic and Republican parties today.┬ĺ┬ö Funny and trenchant as always, Gregory assembled the manuscript for this book… Read more
