Very Good with edge wear, heavy fading to spine and edges, light staining to rear cover, light foxing. Hinge at front endpaper is slightly exposed and split started to front free endsheet at top end. An African American publisher and journalist who wrote under pseudonym for various New York City papers, especially including The Brooklyn Daily Eagle. The author seemingly published this collection of his work after The Brooklyn Daily Eagle decided to cease publishing Fulton's work. Additionally, Fulton was the author of the book Recollections of a Sleeping Car Porter.

A nice copy. A very scarce history of the evolution of Max Planck's Radiation Law at the dawn of the 20th century.

A classic of Asian American literature, this novel tells the story of Chungpa Han, a penniless Korean refugee who makes his way through the US and Canada in the 1920s, trying to fit in and support his studies. The Korean American author's two books were published by Maxwell Perkins-- famous editor of Hemingway, Wolfe (a fan of Kang's work), and Fitzgerald-- to critical acclaim, but fell out of print and were neglected for many decades.

The autobiography of the first Black Secret Service agent on the White House detail, who faced a lot of racism and vitriol from other agents during his time in JFK's White House. After helping to foil a plot against President Kennedy's life in Chicago in October 1963, mere weeks before the Dallas assassination, Bolden was forced into silence about the events in Chicago (which remain completely unknown and obscure even to most historians of the era) and eventually railroaded into jail on trumped-up charges. In 2022 he was officially pardoned by President Biden.A rare signature from one of the unsung heroes of the Kennedy assassination milieu.

While teaching in the Sea Islands off South Carolina she developed innovative methods to teach adults to read rapidly using common items such as the Sears catalogue. These methods would come in handy in the Citizenship Schools she is famous for designing, which taught Black Americans in the South how to fully exercise their rights and lead others. A scarce collection of poems that were featured on Karl Zomar's Radio Scrap Book Program in the 1930's and 40's. A magician and radio host, Zomar would later move to Denver and start a country record label, Columbine. Perry Mason, the Missouri poet, shared a name with the fictional criminal defense lawyer created by Erle Stanley Gardner.

Jared Maurice Arter was a former slave turned Christian missionary, writer and academic. An autobiography that also features a sketch of his hometown of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, as well as sermons.
