Alexandria, VA: Time-Life, 1991. First. Hard Bound in a slipcase. Near Fine all Volumes./None.. THREE VOLUMES The three volumes are titled Illustrated Atlas of the Civil War, Arms and Equipment of the Union, and Arms and Equipment of the Confederacy. The set is like all Time Life books, outstanding photography and organization. Probably not good reference material but very enjoyable reading. A beautiful set.

NY: Appleton, 1862. War dated 1862. Hard Bound. 8" X 5 1/2. VG+. Exceptional copy./None. Halleck's manual was first published around 1846 and underwent several publishings. General Halleck became President Lincoln's chief military consul. His field accomplishments in the Western Theater early in the War were not sterling. He was known as "Old Brains." This manual is identified with Henry Kip as shown by his signature and an 1862 date on the front gluedown. There were fifteen Henry Kips who served in the War, which one was he is not determined.

This an 1862 edition (third) carrying a "during the War" premium. Halleck pre-Grant leader of the Union Army, very active in Union operations early in the War. He was noted for his intellect, called "Old Brains" by some.

Philadelphia: Collins, 1883. First. Hardcover. Covers faded and bug bit. Small book in length and size, 6" X 4". Interior VG./None.. Very interesting narrative of what took place in Pennsylvania when Lee threatened the State in his 1862 campaign. There was a call for short term militia to counter the possible Confederate invasion of Pennsylvania, a lost tale of the War. Their story.Very detailed, has a diary section.

NY: Putnam, 1912. First. Hard Bound. G+/VG-. Small pieces missing on the first two pages of the table of contents. Small cracks in the front gutter, rear OK. Some staining to the front board (see photo)./None. It contains 62 illustrations, mostly photos.. Extensive account of Elimira of over 450 pages. It contains a list of Confederate dead buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. There are testimonials from several Confederate prisoners as well as a detailed history of the camp from formation to closing after the War. Also well documented are the day-to-day operations of the camp. Nevins I-194. Dornbusch III-685.

Boston: Welch, Bigelow and Co, 1861. First. HB. Hinges good. Blind stamp on bottom of title page. Rest VG+./No Jacket. Civil War dated medical book used by military doctors in the field. Much reference material inside, no illustrations. Likely very rare. A manual likely kept close at hand due to the huge number of amputations performed during the War. Not common!!
