Good. Softcover. No publication date but timetables are dated to Nov. 2, 1897. Tan wraps with dark brown cloth on spine. Wraps have heavy creasing and soiling, including a dampstain near the foot of the spine, affecting content. Page 185 has 2" of damage; pages 94 and 99 are torn along the top edge. "A. B. Steinbach & Co. , Salem, Oregon" rubber stamp on front wrap. Overall good. Subtitle: "Embracing an alphabetically arranged list of 9000 names of persons who reside and trade in the capital city, together with their occupations and addresses. An up-to-date map of the city, a view of the new city hall, boat and street car time tables, complete fraternal directory." The b&w map and the illustration of city hall are both housed between pages 100 and 101. The map spans two pages, and public offices, schools and railway stations have been numbered and indexed. Overall good.This set of early 20th century photographs depict the Wolly family who settled in Waynoka, Oklahoma Territory. Very Good. Mounted gelatin silver photo of 2 men, 3 women and 1 child standing in front of a farmhouse in Cavalier County, North Dakota. Circa 1912. This photo was acquired with another photo from the same time and place. Photo measures 5" x 7" and mount measures 7 ¾" x 9 ¾". No content on verso. Mount has light wear to all edges and light soiling; photo has nice clarity and light soiling. A detailed photo showing a small farmhouse with a farmer's elevator at the left of the shot and another small house to the right. The folks pictured include a hard working man, likely a blacksmith, standing with three apron-clad women, a small child and a man in a suit. The detail of the image is pretty great. You can see lace curtains and plants in the windows, and a dog eating some dinner. The architecture and clothing of the day are nicely represented. .

Good. Set of 10 silver gel photos mounted on board with typed descriptions affixed to the mounts. Photos measure 8 x 10 inches; mounts measure 11 x 14 inches. One photo has black tones, all the others have brown tones. Photos are numbered or numbered and lettered. Previous owner has written in pencil on some of the photos (in the margins) and mounts, usually the photo number and sometimes a note about the photo content. It looks as though some of the photos were originally numbered or titled in the negative but these titles were scratched out in the negative and are unreadable. Mounts are slightly curved and have light toning and wear to the edges. One photo is missing its description and the mount has residue where the description was glued. Overall good condition. The photographer of these images is unknown. We believe the photos to be dated around the 1930s based on the vehicles pictured and one description that mentions Canyon de Chelly National Monument which was authorized in 1931.… Read More

Colorado Springs, CO. Good. Cabinet card produced by Horace S. Poley, a photographer based in Colorado Springs, sometime between 1892-1901. Mount measures 6 ¾" x4 ¾" with the photo measuring about 1/8" smaller in each dimension. Large crease to bottom left corner, cracking both the photo and mount on the recto. Edges of mount are gilt. Verso has remnants of tape used to affix the mount to a book page. Markings from previous owner, collector R. A. Ronzio, on verso in marker. Title "Early day Cripple Creek" written in pencil on verso. Photo depicts a well in the foreground with many other structures in a valley surrounded by forested hills. ; 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" .

This collection contains 19 historic photographs depicting early flights of a hydrogen balloon and a biplane in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and features some of the first aerial photographs of the city. Silver gel photographs measure between 4” x 3” to 8” x 6” and are dated to 1909 and 1913. Also included are two newspaper clippings about the flights and one photocopy (modern) of Joseph A. Blondin’s 1909 flight log. Overall good. Most photographs have glue residue and numbers written in pencil on verso (likely photos were used in a book); three photos have moderate chipping and soiling affecting content but the remaining photos have only light soiling and minor creasing at corners.
