These books are clean, tight, square with good corners and unmarked. They are lightly bumpws and rubbed, noticeable at the ends of the spine and tips of the corners. They have pale yellow end papers (soiled on Vol. I) and 339, 339 clear pages respectively extensively illustrated with black & white drawings bound in brown cloth covered blind stamped boards with gilt titles on the spine and gilt urns on the boards.

This stated first edition is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in an equally fine dust jacket. It has 228, bright clear pages in a one-quarter binding with blue cloth and silver titles on the spine. The boards are covered in gray paper. The book feel as if unread.

New York: The Federal Book Company, 1904. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. This book is clean, tight, square with pretty good corners and internally unmarked, but here is a gift inscription on the ffep. It is mildly rubbed and has no date, but since Federal was only in business between 1902-1904, 1904 is a safe bet. It has 358, lightly toned pages illustrated with black & white drawings. It's a handsome little book with gray cloth boards decorated with black and green drawings with a large colorful scene of a young man in the forest on a paste down on the front. There are gold titles on the spine, black titles on the front.

New York: Nafis & Cornish, 1840. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. This copy is clean, tight, square and basically unmarked (there might have been a name on a front end paper, but it has faded to a few random lines). It is lightly bumped/rubbed mainly at the edges. There is occasional foxing throughout, but he text block remains bright and clear. The elaborately blind stamped boards are covered in tan cloth. It has gold designs and titles on the spine. This is volume I, volume II being volume Short Stories; or A Selection of Interesting Tales which were published (copyrighted?) in Boston in one volume as Tales of Terror. Under the circumstance maybe this should be first thus. In any case all of these volumes appear to be very rare. It has 192 pages and a black & white frontispiece, a drawing of two young girls.

This stated first edition is clean, tight, square and unmarked. It is lightly rubbed at the edges with some faint damp stain at the bottom edge of the rear wrap and end paper that does not penetrate further. It is a first printing with the full letter line and all pages are bright and clear as are Eaton's colorful drawings, It has pictorial wraps with black titles on the spine and front.

It is open on all sides and yellowed at the edges with several short closed tears. There is an open tear across the first page that was stitched together with white thread. It has 5 pages plus ads and a decorative front with black titles.

This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in a very good dust jacket. It is lightly rubbed at the ends of the spine and the dust jacket has very light edge wear. It has 212, bright clear pages bound in black cloth covered boards with white titles on the spine.

It has a name and date (1881) on a front end paper; otherwise it is unmarked. It has some light rubbing, most noticeable at the tips of the corners and the ends of the spine were there is some minor fraying. The beveled boards are covered in green cloth with embossed red titles and designs on the spine and front. The front has a gilt design of travel luggage and birds against a red circle. It is profusely illustrated with black & white drawings. It has 405 red edges pages and decorative gray end papers, a lovely book. NAP and owner's date indicate this is a first edition.

It has a name and date (1882) on a front end paper; otherwise it is unmarked. It has some light rubbing, most noticeable at the tips of the corners and the ends of the spine were there is some minor fraying. The hinges are split, showing mesh, more so at the bottom. Both are still holding well, but are a bit loose. The beveled boards are covered in red and tan cloth with tan titles and designs on the spine and front. The front has a gilt design of hieroglyphics with neat camel and sphinx. It is profusely illustrated with black & white drawings. It has 287 pages plus ads and pictorial green end papers.

This book is clean, tight, square with very good corners and unmarked. It has 185, bright, clear pages bound in brown wraps with black titles on the front. It is lightly rubbed.

This copy is lightly rubbed at the surface and edges, the front wraps are loosening at the staples . The colored front wrap is pictorial with a maid, in an off the shoulder toga, plucking at a truly enormous lyre in front of a smoking brazier. It has black titles against a pink background. It contains "Home to Our Mountains" - Il Trovatore (Verdi), "Flower SOng" - Faust (Gounod), "Toreador Song" - Carmen (Bizet), among other works. The adds contain a few bars of Leo Feist tunes such as "Carolina Mammy" and "Crying For You".
