This book is clean, tight, square with very good corners and internally unmarked, but there is a name on the ffep. It is lightly rubbed. The prior owner inserted a small pocket on the rear paste down with a small card describing the book (it was never part of a public library). It has 290, minimally toned pages plus ads bound in blue cloth covered boards with gold titles on the spine and black titles on the front. There are black and gold drawings on the spine and front in the style of Appletons' Town and Country Library.

Red wraps with black titles in a white banner over a photo of a Brown and Whittaker, this handsome young couple must have featured the tune. The outer wrap is split a bit at the spine top and bottom. Inside the front wrap is one page of "Georgette by Brown and Henderson. The rear has a single bar of several tunes including "True Blue Sam (The Traveling Man)".

Philadelphia: H. F. Anners, 1852. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. H. Egleton, H. Hawkins, et al.. This copy is clean, tight, square and, but for a extremely faint, pencil name on a front end paper, unmarked. It is bound in what we believe is brown leather. The entire surface is elaborately blind stamped giving it a lacquered appearance. It is rubbed, lightly at the corners, more so at the ends of the spine where there is a short split at the top, front. The titles on the back strip are gold. It has pale yellow end papers and is illustrated with steel engravings of paintings. It contains "Justine" by Wilson, "The Lover's Leap" by Allen, "On the New Year" by Strickland, among many other works. It has 268 pages, gilt edged all around. It has a bit if a roll.
