London: National Alumni, 1905. AUTOGRAPH EDITION. Set #18 of only 100. Signed and Sealed. FIRST EDITION / FIRST PRINTING. There were only 100 sets of this Autograph Edition, making this set exceedingly scarce. Some were issued in cloth. This in the full morocco leather version. This is the complete Autograph Edition, issued the year before all of the many subsequent editions issued over the subsequent years. The bindings of each volume are unique to each volume, but are uniform in their design. All are ornately decorated in gilt. The binding of each volume is a facsimile of the binding of an important book from the period of history with which that volume is concerned. Each binding is custom to it's volumes contents. Each volume contains a colored frontis page. The top page edges are gilded. The fore-edges and bottom edges are deckle-edged. Bound in full morocco leather bindings. Each cover is unique. First Printing, with all required points in accordance with the Fitzgerald bibliography by Bruccoli: 1925 on the title and copyright pages. The Scribner's Seal on the copyright page. And all typing errors: 1) Page 60, line 16 says "chatter". 2) Page 119, line 22 says "northern". 3) page 205, lines 9-10 says "sick in tired". 4) Page 165, line 16 says "it's", and on line 29 (the bottom line) space after "away". 5) Page 211, lines 7-8 says "Union Street station". This book was originally issued with a dust jacket that is now virtually unobtainable, and not included with this copy. Copies of the dust jacket are seldom seen, with the few that are available, and still intact, listed between one-hundred and five-hundred thousand dollars.
