Uniform full straight-grain morocco, raised bands, spines in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, volume and sub-title to fifth, the remaining panels with gilt central quadrilobe and leafy stem oblong device, covers framed with semi-circle roll in blind bordered with a gilt double fillet, gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers. Spines very slightly dulled, some minor rubbing to extremities, slight scrapes to a few covers, small chip to head of volume three part two. Internally some light browning and dust-staining, but generally fairly clean and bright, previous owners armorial book plate to front pastedowns. Later (mid - late18th century?) morocco, slightly raised double bands, spine in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, publisher to third, remaining panels with central floral spray surrounded by a lozenge made up of small tools with acorn corner pieces, covers with thick fillet bordering a flower head and leafy stem roll frame, gilt roll to edges and inner edges, a.e.g., with spot pattern marbled endpapers. Spine slightly faded, small hole to head of spine, rubbed with some slight cracking to leather towards fore-edges. Lightly browned internally, occasional light spotting, but generally clean, previous owners' book plate to front pastedown. Red ruled throughout. Signature Ii misbound but complete.
