Description:
A First UK printing published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in 1972. The BOOK is in near FINE condition. Some mild pushing at the spine tips and a little dustiness to the upper text block. A very tight and clean copy. The WRAPPER is complete and in VERY GOOD++ or better condition. A Little edge-wear, creasing and rubbing more pronounced at the upper spine (see images). A small closed tear to the front upper cover. The red colouring of the spine is completely unfaded. This is a very nice example of a wrapper that is notoriously prone to fading and wear. The wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival protector. The book has been Signed (without dedication) by John Berger to the title page. A 'Booker Prize' winning title and increasingly elusive to find as a signed title. A very sharp copy. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
