The journal of Henry Giles kept during his time in Europe during World War II with the 291st Combat Engineers.

The spine is just slightly darkened. No names or other writings in book. Includes frontispiece (with tissue guard) portrait of G. K. Chesterton and three other photos. Published anonymously in England in 1908, the author was soon revealed as Chesterton's younger brother Cecil. Cecil died in 1918 as a result of wounds received during WWI.

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio: Author Published; (1855). First Edition . Hardcover. Poor condition in original binding, which is dark brown cloth over thin cardboard and measures approximately 17" wide by 11" high. No copyright or printing information in the book. Pencil notation on blank front endpaper (genealogical note), and light pencil notations sporadically throughout. 22 unnumbered pages. The book is completely disbound, but all pages and covers are present and in the proper order. The original book was a sewn binding which was sewn across the top edge of the book and has now lost the original thread that held it together. A scarce and fragile item, but complete and useable. Includes Joshua W. Sill (born 1831), for whom Fort Sill. Oklahoma, was named.
