Punk/hardcore show flier for a concert at Anisqoyo Park in Isla Vista, featuring Habeus Corpus, N.O.S., Antikrieg, Aftertaste, V.O.S. and Death Toll. Nice clip art of a girl and her father (?), depicting the girl spooning tiny skulls into her mouth from an ice cream cup, with the man stating "do it for America honey; and don't leave a drop for the Russians!" VERY GOOD condition. A hint of toning and wrinkling.

Richmond, VA: Williams Printing Company. Wraps. Fair. ca 1913. Printed wraps. 10 pp. Reprinted from the Virginia Medical Semi-Monthly, July 25, 1913. A short essay reflecting on habit in human beings, exploring the benefits to 'instinctively' carrying out daily tasks, but also the perils of bad habits in modern society. Citing the stresses of meeting modern demands, the author addresses the use of drugs and alcohol to address 'weaknesses' that a person may feel, while also citing Eddyism, the Emmanuel movement, Christian Science, progressive causes and even the suffragist movement as bad habits or supplements that people use to treat themselves in the face of modern inadequacy. FAIR/GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy soiling to the covers, with dark scuffing, uneven fading and some creasing. Dark dampstain to the upper rear cover, affecting the upper margin of the book. Text somewhat browned.

Belgrade: No Publisher, 1960. Wraps. Very Good. Printed wraps. 418 pp. Plus black and white photo plates and a few fold out diagrams. Text appears primarily in Serbian, with a short section in English and another in French. A detailed study of the ethnic origins and early history of the people of Solta and Rugova. Solta is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, while Rugova refers to the mountainous western region of Kosovo. VERY GOOD condition with moderate browning to the wrappers along the extremities. Minor creasing to the covers and spine. Interior clean and solid, with many pages unopened.

San Francisco: Strait and Associates, Publisher, 1967. Tabloid. Good. no date, 1967. Side folding tabloid newspaper format. 15 by 11 ¼ inches. 16 pp., including covers. Color covers and centerfold. Black and white photos/illustrations throughout. Sixth issue of this underground newspaper from San Francisco. The journal ran for several years, publishing counterculture, hippie, sex, and political content. This issue with a piece for tourists visiting the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco, a petition on unjust marijuana laws. With color centerfold artwork. GOOD+ condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning.

No Place: No publisher, 1812. Pamphlet. Fair. Large pamphlet, lacking any outer wraps. Pagination runs 241-288. A collection of essays on various subjects, including, religious, philosophical, literary and historical topics. Of note is two page piece on a Native American prophet in Georgia, a member of the Creek, who had predicted an earthquake and the arrival of a lamp in the west. The article asserts this was to rally the Creeks to battle against the white settlers, and provides a bit of biographical background on the Native American prophet. This issue also prints the music and lyrics to a song "Content," written by Dr. G.K. Jackson, an English organist at the King's Church, who arrived in Boston in 1812, becoming an organist in several churches there. Approximately 10 by 6 ½ inches. 20 pp. Black and white photos throughout. An insert included in the triple album issued by the band Half Japanese "1/2 Gentlemen/Not Beasts." It features a collection of black and white photos depicting topless women and men dressed in loincloth style garb, all wearing tribal style masks. In some photos the models appear to be covered in mud, with others also portraying them in tribal sort of paint. GOOD condition. Moderate fading and browning. Minor curling. Small black ink stain at the top corner of the first few pages (Mark Jay Collection).

New York: The Saint, Publisher, 1986. Unbound. Very Good. Single sheet folded into 10 by 7 inches, unfolding into four panels. Cover art by John Vaughan. A program of events being held in December of 1986, at the legendary gay and lesbian nightclub, The Saint. The club opened in 1980 in the old Fillmore East building. Founded by Bruce Mailman, the club operated for most of existence as a members' only venue, and earned a reputation for the parties held there. The club closed in 1988. This program features Gloria Gaynor playing at Disco Divas II, as well as a performance by the Weather Girls. VERY GOOD condition. Minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear.

Surnames include Moses, Dane, Boreman, Bosworth, Kimball, etc. A reprint edition, printing all seven parts into one volume. GOOD condition. Minor soiling and fading to the cloth. Top edge a bit dusty and soiled. Interior solid with minor scattered underlining. Previous owner's address label on the first endpaper.

A history of missions undertaken by the Methodists around the world, including missions to China, Brazil, Ceylon, various locations in Africa, Mexico, and the American Southwest, including California and among the Native Americans. Includes detailed accounts of these and other missions, perhaps intended to serve as an example for other aspirant missionaries. GOOD condition. Moderate uneven fading to the covers, especially along the extremities. Spine rather faded. Minor soiling. A few small stains to the rear cover. Some scuffing. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Lower front interior hinge cracked and starting to separate. Text block solid with scattered minor foxing. Foxing to the page edges.

A strongly satirical, darkly humorous anti-death penalty work, highlighting the perfection that humanity seeks in killing its fellow man, as well the hypocrisy of society. Duff, and Irish writer, is perhaps best known for this work. GOOD+ condition. Minor fading, soiling, and scuffing to the covers and extremities. Minor toning to the text block.

New York: National Automobile Chamber of Commerce, 1924. Wraps. Good. Illustrated card stock wraps. 230 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A catalog to various automobiles, including cars, trucks and other commercial vehicles, made by a variety of manufacturers. Includes cost, principal mechanical details and specifications. Manufacturers include Auburn, Apperson, Chevrolet, Durant, Haynes, Dodge, Studebaker, Olds, Nash, Pierce-Arrow, etc. Perhaps of note are four pages of electric vehicles, including cars and commercial vehicles, made by Rauch and Lang, Autocar, and Ward Motor Vehicle Company. While electric cars had been around since the late 1800s, their use declined by 1920 due to innovations in gasoline power car design and discovery of vast amounts of oil, rendering them all but obsolete by the early to mid 1920s. A heavily mathematical based treatise on the steam engine, providing detailed mathematical formulas and principles to be used in applications for constructing steam engines and their various parts. With a section examining the mathematic principles behind navigation and steering in various bodies of water, as well as a section on the American monitors and their use. GOOD condition. Covers faded, with some soiling, minor staining and discoloration. Small chip in the cloth on the lower front cover. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Minor scattered foxing throughout. Heavy scuffing, bumping and wear to the extremities and corners. Minor scattered foxing in the interior.

Heavy fading and mottling to the covers, with moderate uneven toning and discoloration to the rear cover. Minor soiling and staining. Cloth frayed and scuffed along the extremities. Owner's signature present. Paper toned, with scattered soiling.

No Place: No Publisher, 1858. Unbound. Good. Handwritten letter from a William to his Brother Henry. Written in Osage, although no further geographical details are mentioned, other than 'West.' Dated October 23, 1858. Almost four page in length (a single sheet folded once). William describes, in long, somewhat rambling sentences his life in Osage running or tending to a lumber mill, mentioning the long hours he keeps, sawing wood, as well as several breaks in the dam at the mill and the breakdown of the wheel at the mill. The letter begins with him mentioning that he has to 'keep Batchelor's Hall tonight,' referring to his meal and putting to bed his four year old girl. He talks of selling out to his brother, although apparently declines this, and refers to the Cape (presumably Cape Cod, as Boston is mentioned) and his potential of going back home (to the Cape) for a visit. A short letter from "Lex" to his(?) mother, briefly discussing how hard it is to make a trip to the mill to send mail, requiring an all day trip of 36 miles, while following deer tracks through big timber at night to return to his camp. He talks a little of hunting, as well as mentioning that whenever someone meets someone else they talk about the same old bull, like hunting. The name Potter Valley perhaps indicates a California origin for the letter, although there was also a settlement in Western Canada called Fraser's Mill. No clear indication as to where this originated. GOOD condition. Two horizontal fold creases present. Minor toning, soiling and fading to the letter.
