A SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT (FRAMED AND GLAZED) # 127 of 750. From Geoff Hunt’s definitive series of prints ‘Fighting Sail 1773-1815’ depicting some of the naval ships of the period. The H.M.S. Surprise was a captured French ship, Rated Fifth-Rate. The size of the image is 13" x 9 3/4". Stunningly framed and glazed.

London. First Edition. Soft Cover. The original 16-page type-written manuscript of this short story. It was published by Collins in a Girls Annual of short stories during the 1950s. Although a work of detective fiction, one can surmise from style and content and through comparison with her other works, that this text was intended for children/young adults. I do not believe that this short story was ever published in book form anywhere else.

A superb hand-written [un-dated] letter in blue ink on his engraved Oscar Hammerstein, 2nd letterhead to Vivian [Ellis] who created more than 60 English stage musicals and was behind many of the popular songs which thrilled listeners before and after WW2. In original wrappers in chromo parchment dust wrapper. The D/W is torn and frayed with slight loss to the rear panel. Overall a VG copy (with the page block starting to loosen) in like chromolithographed parchment paper wrappers. Issued as "Gowans International Library Number 1." The first separate book publication of this famous supernatural tale. It was first published in Blackwood's Magazine in 1859 and first appeared in book form in TALES FROM BLACKWOOD [FIRST SERIES], Volume X (n.d. 1860).
