Spine is striped in burbundy and green lines with a rectangle with title. Endpapers are tanned.

Both front and rear boards are unattached with broken gutters and hanging by cloth; the frontispiece print and title pages enclosed but uattached as are pages 575-579 including the rear flyleaf. Previous owner's name on rear leaf. All board corners are fraying exposing boards, top front board is bumped. Leading, top and lower edges are all darkened from age.
