An essential book for any typographer or book designer's library. Hermann Zapf (1918 – 2015) was a German typeface designer and calligrapher who lived in Darmstadt, Germany. His career in type design spanned the three stages of Twentieth Century Printing: hot metal composition, phototypesetting (also called cold type), and digital typesetting.
