At the beginning of the work is a foldout, also in fine condition, with text and pictures that present some high points in Chittenden's career as historician. This is a deluxe edition of which only 100 copies were printed and which this is number 79 with the signature of Bruce LeRoy under the number. The contents consist of a foreword, six chapters, with chapter six being personal notes-an unfinished autobiography, and four appendices. There is a frontispiece of Hiram Martin Chittenden and twelve other pages of illustrations. We have placed the volume itself in a clear archival quality Brodart protective cover. A 133 page book which has a front and rear dust flap, a bit unusual and quite nice for a soft cover work. There is light highlighting in yellow periodically for about the first 80 or so pages in the book. Printed on high quality paper with considerable color illustration. There is no creasing on the spine. The need for simplification of the digestion and detoxification processes is the primary motivation of the author in writing this book.
