Franklin Library 1980. Navy quarter bound leather and navy boards with gilt type and raised bands on spine. Purple silk ribbon still tucked in as found in a new edition. Gilded edges on all three sides. New, never opened beyond peeking at title page. Minute spot of rubbing/shelf wear on bottom of front board, not visible when sitting on shelf.

The condition is Very Good because the slipcase is missing. The book is like new. 1966 Third Printing, as stated. Green leatherette boards with gilt and red have no apparent wear or fading. There is a very, very tiny bump to the upper rear corner with no damage to the leatherette. Tight binding, feels unread. Green and white edges are clean, bright, like new. Pages are clean, bright, unmarked, like new.

McClure, Phillips & Co. 1902 first edition. Published March, 1902, R on copyright page. Illustrated not stated on title page. Red boards with white type have rubbing, soiling, edge wear, loss of type in spots, spine is age toned, type completely rubbed off, wear and fraying at spine ends, back board is rubbed. Loose, laid in Frontispiece has previous owner inscription on reverse, damp staining at inside corners. Title page has light foxing. Faint damp staining near gutter on some pages and occasional light foxing. Otherwise, pages generally clean and unmarked. Hinge crack visible at pages 14, 144, 161, and perhaps other spots. Illustration at page 54 laid in. Pages are secure. Very readable copy with numerous illustrations. 249 pages. 8 pages of ads at the rear.
