[5], vi-xxiv, [1], 2-444pp. Full contemporary straight grain morocco, a masonic binding, almost certainly by John Lovejoy, though without his ticket, smooth back, divided into six panels by gilt rules and Greek key bands, each panel with a separate masonic device, upper cover replicates the plate found in the book, a Greek key frame, with compass point letters, surrounding a variety of masonic symbols and devices, lower cover with a Greek key border surrounding a thin rolled rope line with masonic symbols as corner pieces, gilt roll to inner edges, a.e.g., shell pattern marbled endpapers. Slightly later full russian calf, smooth spine divided into six panels by gilt bands, author and title to second panel, remaining panels with central lozenge shaped gilt device, covers with single fillet gilt border. Spine slightly faded, slightly rubbed to extremities. Internally quite bright and clean. From the library of Earl Eldon, with his name and bookplate to front pastedown. Second Edition. Full Calf. Good+. 8vo.

Original publishers cloth, gilt floral decoration to spine, upper cover with gilt frame with volute and flower corner pieces with inner floral wreath surrounding the title, lower cover replicates the pattern but is in blind, a.e.g., primrose endpapers. Spine faded, some minor discolouring to covers, especially towards fore-edges, a few small ink spots. Internally some minor cracking to inner hinges, the frontispiece is lightly foxed to margins with a semi-circular water stain to margin, some light browning and minor foxing, but generally bright and clean. Binding by Burn, with their ticket to rear pastedown. With a lithographic frontispiece, hand-coloured engraved map and twenty tissue-guarded hand-coloured aquatint views as called for. Probably a second issue, with the first Ryde plate being titled Ryde I, see Abbey Scenery 352 (though here in green cloth and not red). First Edition. Hardback. Good+. Spines faded, rubbed, especially to outer joints and spine ends, corners lightly rubbed. Internally some light browning and occasional light foxing, but generally clean. One page slightly proud in volume four. Additional engraved titles to each volume. Previous owners armorial bookplate to front pastedowns. First Edition. Half Calf and Boards. Good. 8vo.
