This is the suppressed first edition, first issue, it explores the shoot-out near Wounded Knee, South Dakota that ended with the death of one Indian and two FBI agents and the subsequent incarceration of Leonard Peltier for murder, the book was recalled by the publisher because of lawsuits and was suppressed before being re-issued in 1991, this is one of the 1983 escapees, interestingly, the front free endpaper is stamped "International Office/of the/Leonard Peltier Defense Committee" along with its Seattle, WA address and phone number. Previous owner's ink name, address, and phone, rear jacket flap creased, else a nearly fine copy.
