Condition is VERY GOOD / no jacket: slight rubbing to spine extremities, a slightly toned spine, owner bookplate of Edith Scoville ["Be of Good Cheer"], some light foxing stains to deckled edges with very light scattered foxing on some pages (it is minor, a bit more foxing is on the title and dedication page), illustrations are clean. This is a lovely book, one of the earlier biographies. Chadwick lived in the Haworth area for a few years; she also wrote a book on Elizabeth Gaskell.
