Vol.1 both dw and book affected by damp at bottom edge, causing discolouration to base of pages (text unaffected) and slight loss to base edge of dw. Nicks and closed tears to tope edge of dw.Vol 2 faint scattered foxing to dw and page fore-edges; dw rather grubby on rear cover. A few closed tears to dw at edges. Dws now in transparent removeable protector. Tight and otherwise clean reading copies.

Externally a little bumped and scuffed at ends of spine and some corners. Inside, Sunday School inscription to 1st fep and gift inscription 1st pastedown. Free endpapers tanned but all other pages clear and unmarked. Good+ tight copy.

Two novels, each in Tauchnitz edition, dated 1880 and 1886 respectively, here bound together but each still with original title page. 279 and 334 pp respectively. Same neat ink inscription on both title pages of previous owner. Outside faded and spine covering has 1-inch split, first title page detached, first two pages coming loose, light foxing on endpapers. Good. Size: 6½" x 4

Pages bright.
