Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Borzoi. Originally published in 1918, reprinted with illustrations by W.A. Dwiggins in 1946, this is a fourth printing from 1979. Set in Salem, Massachusetts during the clipper ship era. The story of Gerrit, Captain of the Nautilus and son of a retired sea captain, who brings home his beautiful wife from China. The jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. 6" X 8-1/2", 320 pages. Illustrations by Dwiggins appear at the beginning of chapters. Very sturdy red cloth covered boards, with the title and author name imprinted on the spine in gold. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn, no edge wear.
