Book Condition: Spine is reinforced with transparent tape, minor wear to covers. Some 209 translations of Japanese sex jokes divided into the following categories: Farts and Farting, Embarassing Moments, The Wedding Occassion, Married Life, Deception, Priests/ Nuns, Widows, etc etc. The universality of these categories is comforting for those who emphasize the humanity of all who inhabit the planet in a time of increased xenophobia and nationalism. A good fart joke goes a long way in breaking down societal barriers Mr. Levy seems to say. Includes an annotated bibliography and index. A seminal work in the field. Book Condition: Very Good at least. Edges mildly yapped, covers are a darker, olive green rather than the usual light tan with the result that the first and last pages show some toning (offsetting), a highly unusual design flaw in an otherwise flawless and well executed tradition of book binding for this series, their longevity is consistent and amazing. Glassine wrapper mostly intact but fragile, fraying and discolored. At this point we imagine a group of v. tired writers sitting around racking their brains for subject matter...Industrial Arts?

A board book, just exactly like a kid's heavy photo-illustrated cardboard pages, except this board book has full frontal nudity. A surreal (in a good way) trot through the mind of the artist Charlie White. The exhibition featured the photographs pictured in the book but much much larger. It's kind of Sesame Street meets Terry Williams. Near Fine with the slightest bit of superficial friction to the covers. No dust jacket was issued with this book.
