Namboodiripad in 1957 during the first elections of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, opposition parties comprised of wealthy property owners organized a "liberation struggle" to resist plans under development that would have re-distributed land and implemented educational reforms in the province. The present publication provides a vivid account of the effort, both in photographs and contemporary texts.
