[Aki n.d. ca. 1890]. Hand-painted painting on fine silk, 41.5 x 107.5 cm., very clean, excellent example, brilliantly painted, artist's signature with cinnabar seal [Hanko], very sharp example. ORIGINAL ART WORK THE ARTIST: SASAKI Bizan [born Meiji 9th, 1876] in Hiroshima, [ancient name was Aki]. He was a disciple of Suiseki Ohashi [1865-1945], a famous Gifu painter of Tigers. He studied under Amano Hoko, in 1886 he went to Tokyo to study under Watanabe Shoka. In 1895 he received a price at the Anaikoku Kangyo Hakurankai and in 1900 a gold medal at the Paris Expositing.
