Description:
New York: Freedom of the Press Co., Inc. / Newark: The New Jersey Worker, 1951. Two Communist Party pamphlets published under different CP imprints accusing the Kefauver Committee of failing to investigate Albert Anastasia of Murder Inc. for the deaths of Italian-American longshoreman, Pietro "Pete" Panto (1911-1939) who tried to expose the corruption that existed in the International Longshoreman's Association, and union member, Mario Russo, killed in Elizabeth, NJ, during a strike in 1946. The authors contend that in both cases a Red Scarce mentality prevented the Committee from properly connecting organized crime with big business. Stapled wrappers with Kefauver a larger format (7 ¼" x 5 ¼") than Murder (5 ¾" x 4 ½"), each 16 pp. Cheap paper of Kefauver toned, else a Fine copy; Murder has some chipping to corners and bottom edge, pulp paper browning, VG. Both pamphlets relatively uncommon in OCLC with seven institutional holdings for Kefauver and only four of Murder. (06733).

Santa Ana, Calif: Published by the author, 1950. Tenth edition. A warning concerning the large Zionist-Communist fifth column operating in the United States, including in the upper echelons of government, whose aim is the destruction of Christianity and the white race. After being discharged for his strident anti-Zionism, Williams published the Williams Intelligence Report and authored numerous anti-Semitic and anti-Communist works. The pamphlet received wide circulation by Williams and through Conde McGinley's Christian Educational Association, with copies later circulated by the National States Rights Party. Later reprinted by George Dietz's Liberty Bell Publications. Stapled wrappers (8 ½" x 5 ½"), 56 p., poorly reproduced photographs of Jews and their apologists throughout. Atlanta: Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, 1929. Three uniformly sized (ca. 5" x 8"), stapled issues printed on newsprint, 22; 21; 21 pp. All in Fine condition with some negligible toning to newsprint. The first issue of the Klan Edition of the Kourier plus two subsequent and concurrent issues from 1929. Each cover bears the warning: "This is the Klan Edition of the Kourier. IT MUST NOT BE SHOWN TO ANY ALIEN NOR LEFT WHERE ANY ALIEN MAY SEE IT." Previously, the Kourier served a dual purpose of communicating with both its members and with the alien (i.e., non-Klan) world and thus found itself struggling with the differing nature of those objectives. The decision was made by the Imperial Wizard and the editorial board to establish this internal edition in order to communicate freely with its members while maintaining the public Kourier to "carry the message of the Klan to all the world." Description:
Atlanta: Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, 1927. A special issue of the Klan's magazine devoted to Roman Catholicism and the campaign of the Catholic New York governor, Alfred E. Smith, for President of the United States. The majority of the issue is devoted to a lengthy article by the Klan's Imperial Wizard, Dr. Hiram W. Evans, entitled "For the People" or For the Pope?, the last of three articles written about alienism and American democracy. Evans' article was prompted by an open letter to Gov. Smith in "The Atlantic," by Charles C. Marshall (1860-1938), lawyer and author of "The Roman Catholic Church in the Modern State." Gov. Smith's rebuttal is also reprinted as well as a final response from Marshall. The issue concludes with excerpts from the encyclical letters of Pope Leo XIII demonstrating the opposition by the Catholic Church toward American democratic principles. The Klan's sustained campaign against Gov. Smith was instrumental in his defeat (see Williams, "The Shadow of the Pope [1932]).… Read More
