His fables were written to make light of controversial political situations occurring in Russian in the early 19th-century. This first English edition was adapted and translated by W.R.S. Ralston and David Douglas, and features charming vignette engravings at fable headings. Item number: #6531 Price: $350 KRYLOV, Ivan Andreevich Krilof and his fables, London : Strahan and Co., 1869.
