A near fine book with bright clean boards and only a hint of rubbing to the corners. Internally, the book is without names inscriptions or bookplates and only a small book seller's ticket on the front paste down. The dust jacket is in very good condition considering its age with one 6cm closed tear extending from the top of the spine around onto the front board and a smaller one of under 1cm to the top edge of the rear panel. All edges yellow, teal endpapers, unpaginated (24)pp with 12 pages each with colour pictorial boarders with details of each month and 10 full page colour illustrations including decorative title page. With original dust jacket/ postage wrapper. [Schuster& Egan 11. 9a)] The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean and bright with firm sharp corners. There is a little dust staining to the very tips of the spine and the spine itself has some bumping and bruising but remains firm. Internally the book is without name inscription or bookplate and is generally clean and bright although there is a mark from the adhesive edge on the dust wrapper on the front pastedown that has transferred a little onto the front free endpaper. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean with bright titles. The corners are firm and sharp and there is just a hint of pushing to the foot of the spine. Internally without name, inscription or bookplate and just a little spotting to the edge of the text block. The dust jacket,which is now protected in a removable clear cover (not shown), has a touch of sunning to the spine and a little spotting and dust staining most obviously on the rear panel. The top and bottom edges of the flaps are also a little dust marked. There is light rubbing to the spine tips and corners with 3mm closed tears on the lower joint at the head of the spine, the middle of the spine and on the top corner of the upper board. There is a little light marking to the boards with a hint of pushing to the corners and spine tips. There is slight creasing to the spine that appears to be the result in part of a manufacturing fault. Internally, without name, inscription or bookplate and just very occasional light marking. Pale grey endpapers 28 leaves printed on one side only with verse accompanied by 28 hand coloured illustrations including the decorative title page. The boards are very good considering the book's age with uniform toning and occasional marking commensurate with age. There is a little rubbing to the spine tips with minor loss and also to the corners, which are a touch rounded and edges with minor loss. with. Internally there is a German tax stamp on the title page and occasional spotting throughout, more so over the first and last few pages. There are a couple of tape repairs to the book on the front endpapers and also on the final page, which also has a section of paper reinforcement.
