Description:
Debussy composed his "Scène lyrique" in 1884 for his Prix de Rome cantata entry. It was given its premiere that same year at the Institut de France in Paris followed with publication by Durand. He revised the work some 23 years later, even engaging his friend Andre Caplet to help with the new orchestration. Durand brought out a revised vocal score in 1907 with an English translation of the original French text, which is the score reissued here - now new measure numbers and in a convenient format - all at an affordable price.

Description:
Composed in 1913 to a scenario for a Children's Ballet by André Hallé, the music existed only in a piano score and 93 measures of orchestration upon Debussy's death in 1918. His former student and faithful interpreter Andre Caplet completed the orchestration the next year for the long delayed performance at Paris' Theatre-Lyrique de Vaudeville on December 10, 1919. This new, convenient format study score is a digitally enhanced reprint of the one issued by Durand et Cie. in 1920.

Description:
Berlioz' operatic masterpiece is now performed regularly in concert halls worldwide, despite the poor reception received at it Paris premiere in 1846. This is a new, digitally-enhanced, corrected reprint of the score originally issued in 1911 by Costallat & Cie., Paris. Charles Malherbe prepared the piano reduction to serve as a companion vocal score for the full score issued as part of the Berlioz Complete edition - ultimately left incomplete thanks in part to Malherbe's passing in the very year this score was issued. This very readable A4-sized vocal score will be appreciated by performers, students and Berlioz aficionados everywhere.

Description:
Berlioz composed his tremendous "Legende dramatique" in 1845-46, largely creating his own libretto after Gerard de Nerval's French translation of the famous Faust story by Goethe. The composer produced the dramatic oratorio at his own expense for the premiere on December 6, 1846 at Paris' Opera-Comique. Despite critical acclaim, the performance was not well-attended - a major financial setback for the composer. This new study score is a digitally-enhanced reprint of the score issued in 1907 by Breitkopf & Hartel as part of the projected Berlioz Complete Works, edited by Charles Malherbe and Felix Weingartner.

Description:
Composed in 1887-1888, Debussy's cantata, or Poème Lyrique, was based upon the ballad "The Blessed Damozel" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti in a French translation by Gabriel Sarrazin. Though premiered and published in vocal in 1893, the orchestral score didn't appear until 1902 due to the composer's revisions to the orchestration. The 1902 Durand scoree is reprinted here in an easy-to-read format at a very reasonable price. In contrast so many of the on-demand scores now available this one comes with all the pages with each image thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, then beautifully printed on quality stock with an attractive glossy cover.

Description:
Brahms composed his first volume of choral-watzes in August of 1869 to poetry taken from Polydora, an 1855 collection of German folk-poems and love-songs assembled by George Friedrich Daumer (1800-1875). Rather than the usual accompaniment for piano solo, Brahms elected to provide one for piano duet. The first performance was given in Heidelberg on November 4, 1869. The conductor Ernst Rudorff persuaded Brahms to orchestrate the accompaniment for 8 of the 18 numbers (plus another subsequently included in his Op.65 set) for a concert given at Berlin's Hochschule on March 19, 1870.

Offered here is a new vocal score of the entire Op.52 set by Richard W. Sargeant Jr. for voices and piano, which matches his new edition and orchestration of the Op.52 - also available from Serenissima Music as study score, large conductor score and orchestral parts.
