Andre Bruyere (1912- 1998) was member of a well known French family of architects, engineers, intellectuals and writers on the political left in France. Andre and others in the family, participated in the Resistance to the German occupation during World War II. Andre Bruyere studied architecture with August Perret and contributed to the French International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Paris in 1937. From 1964 onwards Bruyere was working on the project of an egg shaped skyscraper, with architect Jean Prouve.
