Claudel's L'Annonce fait a Marie (The Tidings Brought to Mary) is a medieval mystery in tone, in which Claudel expounds on womans place in Gods scheme. Condition: This copy is in very good condition, there is some mottled fading to the spine but the leather is in otherwise very good condition. This appears to have been a yearly book on the French Air Force and their planes. This edition with sections on seaplanes, flying formations, and some technical details. Illustrated throughout and a previous owner has helpfully created their own index (in English) to the rear. Condition: Good condition. The contents are in good order, but the leather is heavily scuffed to the spine and less so to the boards' edges.

An early edition of Marie Huber's 1731 Le Monde Fou (in English: The World Unmask'd, or The Philosopher the Greatest Cheat), in which the Swiss essayist offer a scathing critique of the philosophical establishment of the early eighteenth century accusing them of being more interested in their own power than in seeking the truth. This second volume contains dialogues 14 to 24 and the addition of two letter printed to the rear. Condition: The front board is nearly detached and there is light rubbing to the leather but the contents are in very good condition for age, with clean pages and secure binding.

The binding is very secure but the pages are tanned but this remains a perfectly readable early French edition.
