Originally published in 1913, A List of Ancient and National Monuments in the County of Cork by Robert Cochrane includes beautifully illustrated descriptions of the six sites then under the control of the Board of Works – St. Keiran's Church (Cape Clear), Sherkin Island Friary, Timoleague Friary, Kilcrea Friary, Buttevant Friary and St. Molaga's Church. This work also includes lists of other monuments in Cork, such as ogham stones, cromlechs, round towers, and a comprehensive list of castles in the county.

Using postcards from private collections this book portrays the city and county of Cork through a century of Irish and European picture postcards (1900 - 2000). In addition to the postcards there are transcriptions of all the written details on the cards. Interspersed among these are extracts from the rich literary heritage of this part of southwest Ireland: William Trevor, Frank O'Connor, Elizabeth Bowen, Sean O'Faolain, Peter Somerville-Large, Mary Leland, and others.

Former owner's name on front free endpaper, otherwise the internal pages are clean with no marks or notes. Contains several black and white images. Hard-to-find biography of Mother Kevin (aka Mama Kevina) Kearney. She was born Mary Teresa Kearney near Arklow, Co. Wicklow in 1875 and spend most of her life working in Uganda. There she set up numerous schools and hospitals, and founded the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa.
