Fine. 10" x 13" size, 5 Âľ" x 7 1/8" mat opening, 5 7/16" x 6 13/16" within the neat line; hand-colored copper plate engraving; gilt-bordered archival matting and backing board; fine. Claude Buffier (1661-1737) was a Jesuit priest who was born in Poland of French parents. Returning to France shortly after his birth, he was educated in Rouen but spent his life at the Jesuit college in Paris. He was a philosopher, historian and educator. Encyclopaedia Britannica. A lovely small map of Europe with good hand-coloring.

A rich pictorial history of the Basse Alsace, the lower Alsace region of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine River, next to Germany and Switzerland. Areas covered in the volume include: Strasbourg, La Bruche, Mount Sainte-Odile, on the Wine Route, and to the north of Strasbourg.

Quarto (11" x 7 Âľ"); pebbled black cloth over board, hand-written paper label to spine; peach endpapers; 48 b&w plates tipped-in, printed recto only; multiple purple ink stamps for Ecole Professionnelle de Coiffure on endpapers and to verso last plate; one plate with a crease, a few with ink smudge to verso; near fine. A collection of illustrations of hair styles from the French monthly publication, La Coiffure Parisienne Illustree, gathered and bound. Printed in sepia on one side only of thick glazed paper, the plates represent 48 different historic hair styles published in the magazine from April 1905 through April 1908, some months have multiple plates. An interesting look at the historic hair fashions of royalty, actresses, and society figures. Bound by the collector and labeled on the spine with a hand-written paper label.

Rome: Bartolomeo Zanetti, 1607. Ephemera no binding. Very good +. Camillo CINGIO. [PRINT]. A copper-plate engraving from the book, Considerationi sopra tuta la vita di N.S. Giesu Chriso, [Considerations on the Whole Life of Our Savior Jesus Christ], authored by Bartolomeo RICCI, and published by Bartolomeo Zanetti in Rome, 1607. Double matted print, outside mat dimensions: 13" x 10"; mat opening: 6 5/16" x 4 3/16"; leaf (sheet) size: 7 3/8" x 5". Plate line visible. Bartolomeo Ricci (1542-1613) was an Italian Jesuit priest, and author of many devotional books as well as an interpreter of the Gospels. This print from his book on the life of Jesus Christ was meant to convey the entirety of Christ's crucifixion in picture-form. Descriptive text is found on the verso of the engraving. The print has been matted in such a way that both sides of the leaf are visible. Archivally double-matted with a hand-applied gilt border.

Not in WorldCat. Knitting instructions for fragile but interesting pamphlet with charming illustrations.

Interesting look at men's sweater fashions in the 1940s.

Set in Scotland the poem has six cantos with notes to the cantos as the second half of the book.

Fanciful story of a young girl who picks wildflowers under a hot sun and dreams of fanciful adventures with fairies.

The weaving company was established by Falk Valentin GrĂĽnfeld in 1862 and was located in West Berlin.

A surprisingly large, highly detailed and colorful die-cut pictorial of a moose head framed by an animal hide stretched and lashed onto a rack of branches. Surrounding the rack is a small mammal pelt and Native American crafts of bead work, a moccasin, tomahawk, an arrow, blue beads strung with animal teeth, and a canoe model.
