Santa Fe, NM: Radius Books, 2010. First printing. (80) pp., 10.5 x 16.5 inches. Limited first printing of 2,000 copies. Printed paper over boards, without dust-jacket, as issued. Two photographic series, with an essay by David Ulin, and a conversation between Michael Light and Lawrence Weschler. New. The second volume in aerial photographer LightÂ’s ambitious series of books with Radius that document the contemporary West, LA Day/LA Night presents two contrasting views of greater Los Angeles, shot from low altitudes and oblique angles. A simple and elegant presentation of this powerful work.

Description:
Montreal: Les Herbes Rouges., 1978. First Thus. Stapled wrappers. [43] pp. French text. Issue 60, February 1978, of the journal Les Herbes Rouges, edited by Francois and Marcel Hebert. Three poems ("Le Poeme de la Duegne Accroupie"; "Le Poeme de la Mer Habitee"; "Stele des Iles"), apparently first published by Editions Quartz in 1959, here illustrated with the author's drawings. Trace of sticker removal on front cover; center sheet laid in (not caught by staples); otherwise very good, and very warmly inscribed by the author on the title page. Ten of the thirty-three numbered sections of the poems have been identified with small numbers in parentheses, 1) through 10), in ink, whether by the author or recipient it is difficult to determine. Small 8vo.

Description:
Santa Fe, NM: Radius Books, 2019. First printing. (148) pp., 10.5 x 16.5 inches. Printed paper over boards, without dust-jacket, as issued. Essays by William Fox, Charles Hood, and Leah Ollman. New. The fourth volume in aerial photographer Light's ambitious series of books with Radius, documenting the contemporary West. Shot at low altitudes and at oblique angles, with post-processing that heightens and intensifies the colors, the double-page full-bleed photographs stunningly reveal the traces and impacts of civilization on the land in the arid half of the USA. Each book in the series uses a different innovative binding structure to present two bodies of work. In this case, the book is a dos-a-dos, with the texts sandwiched in the middle. A large (32 x 24 inch) color reproduction of the famous map from Fremont's 1843-44 expedition, in which he described/defined the Great Basin, is folded and housed in a pocket at the center of the book.

Description:
New York: Grove Press, 1966. First printing. Spiral bound. Very good. 114 pp., narrow 4to. Uncorrected proof in long galleys, with plastic comb binding. Laid in is a typed note on Grove Press stationery dated April 26 [1966], recommending the book: "Regardless of whether we can all get together, I thought you'd like to see this advance galley of Jakov's first novel, which we're publishing in mid-June. If there's one Grove Press book you read this season, this must be the one. End of pitch. / Carry on. What alternative do we have?" "Mid June" is written at the top of the front cover in an unknown hand; at the bottom, under the reproduction of the book's jacket design, in yet another hand, three lines of enigmatic notes in pen: "You know they're doing this now. Impersonal, no rhyme no reason, & then they have a little story. Long live [illegible]." Light creasing and some discoloration to bottom edge of front cover, otherwise very good.
