Pershing (1860-1948) was Commander-in-Chief of the American Expeditionary Forces in W.W.I and this book offers his firsthand experience of the German spring offensive of 1918. Winner of the 1932 Pulitzer Prize for History. Pershing is remembered as a brilliant commander and strategist of the First World War. He would serve the U.S. Government after the war as a military advisor, and his work helped to create the U.S. Army of the twentieth century.
