Description:
First Edition, Later Printing (c 1937). Fine in a just about fine dust jacket. A fantastic copy of this well-known Oz book. This was the second to last OZ book written by Baum. It was published to great acclaim just one month after Baum's passing. Baum died from complications developer after major gallbladder surgery. He completed Magic of Oz and Glinda of Oz, (in that order), during a short period when he rallied and prevailed over a month-long delirium from which he had not been expected to live. Magic and Glinda were the first books published after the end of World War I. Sales during the war years were modest at best, but Magic was a hit and sold 26,000 copies. Indeed, sales were so string that the publisher Reilly & Lee felt comfortable raising the price of Glinda to $2.00. It's unfortunate that Baum didn't leave to see this incredible turnaround, but he ended his life and the golden age of Oz storytelling on a high note.

Fine in a just about fine dust jacket. Quite rare in this condition.… Read More

Tennessee Williams (b. 1911 - d. 1983) was one of the most renowned and influential playwrights and storytellers of the 20th century. Fine, as new. Large scale limited edition, housed in a beautiful cardboard carrying case, with handle and with ribbon bookmark. A wonderful copy for Disney and Mickey fans!
On November 18, 1928, the world's most famous mouse made his very first public debut. Today, we celebrate 90 years of Mickey in one of the most expansive illustrated publications on the Disney universe. Starting with the first sketches of a character who was almost named Mortimer, the book traces the career of Walt Disney's most famous creation, one met with an explosion of worldwide popularity preceded only by the earlier successes of Charlie Chaplin. With unlimited access to Disney's vast historical collections as well as public and private collections, the authors bring Mickey's success story to life: concept art, story sketches, background paintings, and animation drawings as well as historical photographs trace the origins and evolution of such timeless favorites as Steamboat Willie, The Band Concert, and Brave Little Tailor.… Read More
